Ex Sharp Shooters Football Club on Friday, January 10, 2026, organised their first reunion party in over 30 years, bringing together former players, coaches and football stakeholders in a colourful celebration of friendship, discipline and grassroots football development.

The highlight of the reunion was the honour bestowed on former head coach, Benjamin Okomoh, who was gifted Two million naira by his ex-players in appreciation of the discipline, mentorship and values he instilled in them during their playing days. His former assistant coach was also honoured with a cash gift of over six hundred thousand naira for his contribution to the team’s growth and development.

Activities for the day began with a novelty football match at Crane Field International School by 4pm, featuring Ex Sharp Shooters FC players against a team of selected ex-players. The friendly encounter rekindled old rivalries and memories, drawing applause from spectators who gathered to witness the reunion on the pitch.

The reunion party later moved to Lamiel Hotels and Suites, close to Cyprian Hotels along the NPA Expressway, where former teammates shared memories and celebrated their journey in football. Addressing the gathering, Mr Johnbull Eghreriniovo acknowledged that many of the players had not seen each other in over three decades. He revealed that the leadership of the Ex Sharp Shooters FC plans to make the reunion an annual event, with a broader vision of appreciating individuals who have contributed to their lives and the development of football.

Several ex Sharp Shooters players took turns to shower encomiums on Coach Benjamin Okomoh, describing him as a disciplinarian whose influence shaped their careers and personal lives. The event also attracted other top grassroots coaches and football stakeholders, including Coach Napoleon Aluma, who joined in celebrating the legacy of Ex Sharp Shooters FC.
