2nd Delta PFAN Tournament Kicks Off April 4, Secures Charliton Hotels Partnership

The second edition of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), Delta State Chapter tournament is set to kick off on April 4 and will run through May 30, 2026.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, during a press briefing held at Charlington Hotels & Apartments, where organisers formalised a partnership agreement with the hotel’s management.
Speaking at the event, former Super Eagles player and current FIFA Coaches Educator, Edema Fuludu—who also serves as the General Secretary of PFAN National—described this year’s edition as an expanded version of the tournament. He revealed that the competition will feature six teams, an improvement from the maiden edition which had only three teams. Fuludu also emphasized that participation is strictly for players aged 50 and above.
In his remarks, the CEO of Charliton Hotels, Engr. Chief Charles Ekajeh, expressed satisfaction with the success of the inaugural edition and affirmed his organisation’s commitment to supporting the initiative. He noted that the partnership aims to motivate and support retired footballers in their post-playing careers.
Also speaking, former Chairman of the Delta State Football Association and Chairman of the tournament’s Local Organising Committee, Chief Kenneth Nwaomucha, commended the management of Charliton Hotels for their support and assured stakeholders of a more improved and exciting tournament this year.
The PFAN 50+ tournament initiative was conceived by the Chairman of the Delta State Chapter of PFAN, Comrade Dr. Brown Ogbeifun.
