FIFA Licenced Agent,Uyi,Applauds World-Class Pitch and other installations as Warri Stadium Nears Completion

Warri, Delta State — FIFA-licensed football agent has commended the ongoing reconstruction of the , describing the project as a “remarkable development” capable of enhancing Nigeria’s global football standing.
Uyi made the assessment on Monday during an extensive inspection tour of the facility led by the Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission ,Hon Onos Oborevwori.

The inspection team including journalists and project officials, was guided around the stadium complex by project manager Engr. Femi James.
The London-based agent expressed satisfaction with the quality and scale of work already completed, highlighting the lush natural grass pitch planted by Moroccan experts and equipped with a modern drainage system. He noted that the playing surface meets international standards and is suitable for high-level competitions.
“This is a good work in progress. The commitment of the Delta State government to position Warri Stadium for FIFA and global visibility is very intentional,” Uyi said.
Beyond the pitch, Uyi praised the stadium’s comprehensive infrastructure, including upgraded dressing rooms, VIP lounge, mixed zone, expanded press arena, control and waiting rooms, as well as a training pitch and an indoor sports hall currently under construction. He also lauded the stadium’s advanced security architecture, revealing that installed surveillance cameras can monitor activities within a 10-kilometre radius, with provisions for further expansion.
According to him, the facilities align with FIFA standards and are capable of hosting top-tier matches, including fixtures involving Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles.
In his remarks, Hon Onos Oborevwori reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to delivering a world-class sporting facility. He emphasized that the administration of Governor governor Sheriff Oborevwori is focused on building durable infrastructure that will stand the test of time.
“We are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that only quality work is delivered,” he said.
Providing further insight into the project, Engr. Femi James disclosed that the remodeling of the stadium began approximately 11 months ago, he expressed optimism that, given the current pace of work, the project could be completed by mid-year.
He added that adherence to global best practices and standards would position the Warri City Stadium among the highest-rated FIFA-compliant stadiums in Nigeria.
“The quality of work here will place this stadium at the top in terms of rating. All procedures and standards have been strictly followed,” he stated.
The project manager also commended the Delta State government for providing adequate funding and a conducive environment for seamless execution, while praising host communities for their cooperation throughout the construction process.
Following the inspection, the delegation expressed strong confidence in the stadium’s readiness to host major sporting events upon completion, noting that the project reflects a shared commitment to sports development and infrastructure excellence in Nigeria.
The ongoing upgrade of the Warri City Stadium is widely seen as part of broader efforts by the Delta State Government to reposition the state as a hub for football and international sporting activities.
