Green Alliance Football Academy GAFA, on Wednesday delivered an emphatic performance to defeat Golden Friends FA 5–1 in a one-sided encounter that showcased attacking dominance.

The breakthrough came in the 15th minute when an intended pass from GAFA midfielder Tosin caused confusion in the Golden Friends defence. A defender’s attempted clearance only succeeded in diverting the ball into his own net, handing GAFA an early lead.

GAFA continued to press forward and doubled their advantage in the 39th minute. Striker Godswill Menetie reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the box and calmly slotted home to make it 2–0 before halftime.

The second half resumed in similar fashion, with Godswill picking up right where he left off. The forward struck twice in quick succession to complete a brilliant hat-trick and extend GAFA’s lead to 4–0, effectively putting the contest beyond doubt.

Runor Rhiakpor added further gloss to the scoreline in the 69th minute, finishing confidently to register GAFA’s fifth goal of the afternoon.

Golden Friends FA managed to pull one back late in the game, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation.

The victory highlights GAFA’s  growing confidence.
