GAFA Coaches Undergo CAF ‘D’ License Training in Asaba

Two coaches from Green Alliance Football Academy (GAFA), Ehis Arimehn and Ochuko Omuakpero, are currently enhancing their technical expertise through a Confederation of African Football (CAF) certified coaching programme.

The duo are participating in the CAF ‘D’ Coaching License Course, jointly organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). The training programme is presently taking place in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, and has attracted grassroots and developmental coaches from across the region.



The CAF ‘D’ License is widely regarded as a foundational qualification for coaches working at the grassroots and academy levels. It focuses on modern coaching methodologies, player development techniques, and the principles required to nurture young talents in a structured and professional environment.

For Green Alliance Football Academy, the participation of its coaches in this programme underscores the academy’s commitment to maintaining high coaching standards and aligning with global best practices in youth football development. By investing in continuous education and certification of its technical staff, GAFA aims to strengthen its developmental framework and improve the quality of training delivered to its players.



Speaking on the development, officials within the academy expressed confidence that the knowledge and experience gained from the course will have a direct impact on player growth, discipline, and overall performance.

The ongoing training is expected to equip Ehis Arimehn and Ochuko with the necessary tools to further contribute to grassroots football development, not only within GAFA but also in the broader Nigerian football ecosystem.

The highlight of the reunion was the honour bestowed on former head coach, Benjamin Okomoh , who was gifted Two  million naira by his ex-players in appreciation of the discipline, mentorship and values he instilled in them during their playing days.
